at ease

a community space for Black folks to practice softness

when we spend so much of our lives with our armor on, it can be difficult to remember who we are without it.
at ease is a space for us to remember together.

the overview

A 3 month virtual cohort for 8 people with both group calls and individual 1:1 calls.

Who are you outside of your survival strategies? How do you reconnect with that fuller part of you that’s not just focused on survival at all times? What practices help you access ease, rest, play, and joy in your body?

At Ease provides a 12-week virtual container for us to explore these questions together, using the language of the Enneagram as the framework. Sometimes our friends and family might not not know how to hold space for us to practice new ways of being. That is what At Ease exists to do.

The cohort curriculum is structured in three parts: What Is Your Armor (exploring your idealization, avoidance, and defense mechanism), Who Are You Without Your Armor? (exploring the holy ideas and embodiment practices), and How Do You Nurture Your Soft Self (exploring commitment, sustainability, and community care).

Space is limited to only 8 people per cohort to keep it intimate and allow space for deeper sharing. My hope at the end of these 12 weeks is that you feel deeply connected to yourself and to a community that celebrates and supports the fullness of who you are outside of survival mode. You will also leave with practical tools to help you continue to return home to who you are beneath your armor.

  • This program is being offered on a sliding scale model to make this as accessible as possible while honoring the energy, time, training and skill required to create a space like this.

This sliding scale depends on trust, honesty, and accountability. Please use the graphic below to pick the tier that is most reflective of your capacity.

  • TIER ONE

    $999 OR 3 payments of $333/month or 6 payments of $166.50/month

If you have access to financial security, own property or have personal savings, you would not traditionally qualify for sliding scale services. If you are able to pay for "wants" and spend little time worried about securing necessities in your life, you have economic privilege and power in our community. This tier is for you.

    TIER TWO

    $786 or 3 payments of $262/month or 6 payments of $131/month

If you are struggling to conquer debt or build savings or move away from paycheck to paycheck living but have access to steady income and are not spending most of your time thinking about meeting basic needs such as food, shelter, medical care, child care, etc., this tier is for you. However, if you can ask others for financial support, such as family members, partners, or friends, please consider using those personal resources before you use the resources of the sliding scale so as not to limit opportunities for others.

    TIER THREE

    $540 OR 3 PAYMENTS OF $180/MONTH or 6 payments of $90/month

If your experience is aligned with what is described in Tier Two but you don’t have access to additional financial support, this tier is for you.

  • At Ease has made me feel more human deserving a full life of ease, rest, being cared for, listened to and comforted. That I am not what I do.

The cohort has taught me that I don’t have to live life in a constant state of crisis and trauma. I don’t have to lead the fight for every ill in society. I don’t have to have to speak for all Black voices. I can pause. I can rest. I can listen to my needs and I can attend to my needs.

This is what Black Liberation can look like in the not yet, in the now.

  • The content was fabulous, the structure was just *chef's kiss* and each week felt connected to other weeks but also different. Chichi's facilitation was excellent and thoughtful and generous. I appreciated that she held space where she thought appropriate but also pushed people to think deeper and harder about things too. I learned so much, in community with other women, and couldn't be happier that I joined. 20/10 highly recommend!

  • At Ease was an amazing experience. It felt cathartic for me and other Black women to be seen and cherished as we grew and learned together. Chichi was a great facilitator in both the group meetings and the one-on-one sessions. Her framework of the Enneagram as armor helped me truly identify myself after years of mistyping.

  • I absolutely loved my experience of At Ease. The space that Chichi created for women of color to be vulnerable, to lean into softness and ease was something special. Chichi offered much insight through thoughtful questioning and gentle challenging of the assumptions that we bring to the discussion. The other women also offered encouragement and support and hearing from their experiences helped to give insight into my own.

There is nothing like being a part of a group that is courageously facing themselves and leaning into ease. I'm grateful for the experience.

  • At Ease has been one of the most life-changing experiences of my adult life. Chichi is a skilled teacher, facilitator, and guide. She makes the dissemination of the material not only timely but accessible. I am several weeks out of the program now and am still actively aware of how the skills I gained are embodied and becoming more embodied in who I am. It’s what I most desired as I began reading her book. I’m so grateful to her for providing this space for us. ♥️

  • At Ease was a game changing experience for me. I loved being with women who look like me and understand my experiences. Chichi has a way of getting to people’s core and that is where the change comes through. This was a fantastic experience.
